Would IVF work for us?

my husband is infertile due to cystic fibrosis. I've been knowing this since we first started dating, but its really starting to hit home now because now we're at the point where we are ready to have kids & aren't able to. Well I've done some research & the science behind it is that the tubes that carry sperm are being blocked by mucus & therefore the sperm isn't developing properly. The doctors say there's a 99.9% chance that my husband will never be able to have kids. If his sperms aren't even able to fully develop would ivf even work for him?
