What would a person pursuing a backup singer career go to college for?

Im going to the 11th grade, and am about to start applying to different performing arts schools to get pamphlets about there information, but i am unsure of what classes to specifically look at that would benefit me in becoming a backup singer. If you guys have any recommendations on colleges please let me know. I would prefer colleges on the east coast, but other places are also fine. I hope i put enough info up to help, and thanks in advance.
