Can the Pill cause me to be infertile?

I have really bad menstrual cramps that I can't really even get up from bed.I want to go to the doctor and I have been told that I will be given birth control.I am 16 and my mom is all weird about this and is all paranoid.Will I be able to have kids in about 10 years if I start the pill while I'm a teen?
