Question about this guy. Would appreciate answers! Thanks.?

So, this guy who I met through a close guy friend of mine always had a small crush on me for over a year. I used to DESPISE him. But starting this past February, he was quite persistent in "pursuing'' me, so I said I'll just give him a chance to get to know him, but not to date him yet (I'm pretty meticulous about that stuff, and independent.) Anyways, so we spoke every single minute of the day, but he showed some controlling qualities which DEFINATELY doesn't work for me. So I would give him an attitude when he would talk to me in a way that didn't suit me. After 3-4 months of non-stop talking, he pissed me off one day and I just snapped and ignored him for 2 weeks. I had a status up saying that I was single and happy, so he got a girlfirend. I'm very straight up about things, so after he texted me 2 weeks after being with her, ''wanting to talk'' and denying things he said that he felt about me prior to this whole situatioon, I told him that I know he kept that girl as a backup. Then I asked why he wanted to speak with me and he said he wanted to make headway and just be friends. To get him off my back I agreed. But then he kept asking to see me! And we hardly ever saw each othre anyway since we went to different universities. Now, a month later, I find out they broke up. (I ignored him after he got angry that I kept saying I was ''busy'') Then he made fun of me publicly on his friend's profile, who is one of my best friends. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS KID!?
